Job Description:
The EMBRAPII-Inatel Competence Center in 5G and 6G Networks – xGMobile is offering a postdoctoral researcher position to work on research and development in the field of digital communications involving the physical layer of mobile networks. Research topics include MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output), multicarrier waveforms, RIS (Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces), and artificial intelligence applications applied to the physical layer of 5G and 6G mobile networks.
The selected candidate will be responsible for communication system modeling, developing solutions to scientific challenges related to the research topics, carrying out computational simulations, preparing scientific papers, and proposing new research lines with high scientific contribution potential. The researcher will work in an innovative and multidisciplinary environment, directly contributing to scientific and technological advances in the telecommunications sector.
Expected start date: February 1, 2026
Scholarship Amount: R$10.000,00 to R$12.000,00
Main Responsibilities:
- Design of mathematical models for next-generation mobile communication systems.
- Proposal of new digital communication schemes to meet the requirements of future mobile networks.
- Performance analysis using mathematical tools and computational simulations.
- Application of AI-based algorithms to improve performance, efficiency, or reduce complexity in mobile communication systems.
- Publication of scientific papers in high-impact international journals and conferences.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, physicists, and telecommunications specialists.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven research experience in topics related to this call.
- Solid knowledge in digital communications and mobile networks.
- Experience with simulation tools and artificial intelligence applied to telecommunications.
- Relevant scientific publications in high-impact journals (Q1/Q2).
- Ability to conduct independent research and propose innovative solutions.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience publishing in journals such as IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Communications Letters, or similar.
- Previous development of algorithms for MIMO and RIS systems.
- Participation in research projects involving multiple collaborators from different ICTs.
